Protections in Science

Our class has been learning about way plants and animals protect themselves in Science.  Students got to put what they've learned to use by figuring out a way to protect their backpacks from someone who may want to steal something from inside.  It was a creative and fun lesson!  Here are a few students' ideas:

Students of the Month

Congratulations to our students of the month for January and February!

Musical Explorers Field Trip

We had lots of fun seeing the Musical Explorers show at The Broad Stage!

Lenten Retreat

Last week our class buddied up with 6th grade for a small Lenten Retreat.  Students learned that pretzels actually have a prayerful origin!  Each student got to make a pretzel out of modeling clay and take it home as a reminder to pray.

Students then went through the Stations of the Cross with their buddies in our beautiful shrine area.

After Stations of the Cross students returned to the classroom to have a snack of pretzels and juice with their buddies.  The students also talked with their buddies about what they're doing during Lent to grow closer to Jesus.  All of the students enjoyed their time together!
