Sound in Science

We've been learning about sound and hearing the past few weeks in Science with some fun, hands-on activities.  

Students experimented with how sound travels through hoses a couple of weeks ago:

This week students got to make their own instruments.  They made drums, pan flutes, guitars, and sound cups.

As students finished their instruments they created an impromptu parade around the classroom while playing their instruments.  It was a very fun day!

100th Day of School

We had lots of fun celebrating the 100th day of school today!  Thank you to the parents who helped at our afternoon celebration and to Ms. Espinosa, the kindergarten teacher, for organizing the event! 

Skip Counting By 5's

Our math lesson involved skip counting by 5's, and some students were not able to do it!  Please review skip counting to 100 with your child if they can't do it.  They should have learned how to do this in Kindergarten.
