Blended Learning Champions

When Pope Francis addressed Congress in September, he called on all of us to live out the Golden Rule, particularly when it comes to the millions of refugees around the world who are looking for safety. In response to his call, the first graders made and sold bookmarks and were able to raise $345.00 for the UN Refugee Agency. Thank you all for your support with this project. Let us continue to pray for peace in our world and for our hearts to be opened to truly love our neighbor as ourselves.

Christmas Carols and Las Posadas

A flyer went home today with some more information about the Christmas Carols and Las Posadas celebration on Friday, 12/18. The first and second grade classes will be singing "O Come All Ye Faithful" together, and this is the version we're using to practice with in class. Feel free to practice at home so you all can sing along with us!

Seasons in Science

This week in PS Science we learned about how animals and plants change in the winter. Each student got to make a dormouse and a nest for their mouse to hibernate in during the winter. It was a messy and fun lesson!

Recycling Center Field Trip

We enjoyed our short field trip to the recycling center on Monday. We learned lots of information about where our trash and recycling goes, and why it's important for us to recycle. Thank you to the city of Santa Monica and the workers at the recycling center!
